Abstract
Keyword: Speaking, Teaching Speaking, Cards The topic of this study is implementation of cards in teaching speaking (at the eight grade of MTsN Bandung in the academic year of 2011/2012). The objective of this study is to know the implimentation of in teaching speaking achieved by the eight grade students of junior hight school. In order to achieve the objective of this study, the writer conducts descriptive qualitative research. The objective of the study is examining the process of teaching speaking by using cards, the problems of teaching speaking by using cards, the solution taken by the teacher, and evaluation of teaching speaking. The subject are 40 students. To obtain the data, the research has to use instruments of collecting data; observation, interview, and documentations. The procedures of data analyzing are data collection, data reduction, data display and final conclusion. The result of this study shows that teaching speaking by using cards is satisfying (Students more active, they enjoy in teaching learning process and the scores are good). Although there are some students have problems in expressing their ideas. It related with students’ mentality (Nervous, feeling say, afraid make mistake, etc) and students’ capability (bad pronunciation, less vocabularies, fluency, etc). In line with the result, the writer suggests that a teacher must be able to create more creative cards and card games in order to make students more interest in teaching learning process and getting best values.
