Abstract

Key words: English Speaking Community Background: As school that up to date with informations, Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah always try to develop their speaking English. So, in daily conversation, students at Jawahitul Hikmah must apply bilingual. One another is English language. So, it makes every students has good speaking skill. The students have main modal to fight in global era. In this Pon-pes, English language is the most important tool. English is used to communicate by all students and teachers. Weather in formal class, non-formal class or in daily activities. The researcher wants to know how English Speaking Community at Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah is carried out. Problem of the study: 1) How is English speaking community at at Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah, Besole, Besuki, Tulungagung carried out? 2) How is the teacher’s and students opinion about English speaking community at at Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah, Besole, Besuki? 3) What inhibiting factors are faced in English speaking community at at Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah, Besole, Besuki? What factors that support in English speaking community at at Pon-pes Jawahirul Hikmah, Besole, Besuki? Significance of research: 1) For the teacher: Finding of this study are expected to provide information to English teacher to develop teaching English Speaking. 2) For the students: To inform students the better way in learning English Speaking and to improve the quality of English Speaking students. 3) For the writer: The writer knows about a good way in teaching and learning English Speaking. 4) For future researcher: To be reference to complete future research. Methodology: 1) Method of research: descriptive research with qualitative approach. 2) Subject of the study: all students and teacher at Pon-pes JH. Data and Data Source: the data taken from person, place and paper by interview, observation, and documentation. Result of Research: 1) English Speaking Community at Pon-pes JH is based on rules. 2) Students can not avoid Javanese style in speaking English, and this Pon-pes a community that can make students speak English fluently and fast. 3). The inhibiting factors are: Some teachers use Indonesian Language as deliver language, The students use grammar and structure are not correct, The students use Javanese style, Students shy with friends to practice English speaking well as native speaker.
