The Effectiveness ofBlindfold Game Toward Students’ Vocabulary Mastery At The Seventh Grade of MTs Al Huda Bandung Tulungagung. Thesis. English Education Program. Key Word: effectiveness, vocabulary, and blindfold game One of the most important things when speaking English is mastery of vocabulary. Vocabulary is the important basic element in English. The more vocabulary we have, it will be easier for us to understand the conversations or writings of other people in that language and easier to express the contents of thoughts in that language verbally or in writing. The teacher teaches the students to be mastered in vocabulary in order to make their English learning become easier. The teacher needs to provide a technique and/or media to support his/her teaching activity as the way to achieve the learning objectives. The researcher used Blindfold Game during teaching and learning process to make the students know new words. The formulation of the research problem was: “Do the seventh grade students of MTs Al Huda Bandung achieve better after using Blindfold Game?”. The purpose of this study was to know whether the seventh grade students of MTs Al Huda Bandung achieve better after using Blindfold Game. The research design was pre-experimental by using one group pre-test posttest design with quantitative approach. The population of this study was all seventh grade students at MTs Al Huda Bandung Tulungagung. The sample was 7A class students that consist 11 students that chosen through purposive sampling. The research instrument were test that are pre-test and posttest. The data analysis was using t-test. The result of this study showed that the mean score of pre-test was 81.82, while the mean score of posttest was 90.55. Based on the statistical calculation, the score of tcount was 3.682. The degrees of freedom (df) was 10 and the score of ttable on t table for standard significance 5% was 1.812. It could be concluded that tcount was higher than ttable (3.682 > 1.812). The null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted because tcount was bigger than ttable. In other words, it meant that the seventh grade students in MTs Al Huda Bandung Tulungagung achieved their vocabulary mastery better after being taught using Blindfold Game. The Blindfold Game was effective used toward the students’ vocabulary mastery
