Abstract
ABSTRACT A’yunina, Alfi Qurroti. Student Registration Number. 1 7203153018. 2019. The Effect of Using AudioBook Toward Students’ Reading Achievements to Second Grade Students of MTsN 2 Kota Blitar. Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Keyword: AudioBook Script Media, The Effectiveness, Reading Ability This research is telling about the effect of using AudioBook Script in reading especially in reading narrative text of second grader in Islamic Junior High School 2 Kota Blitar. For students in Indonesia English language is as a foreign language. Therefore, English is one main subject in curriculum that should be learning from secondary level up to university. Although in general English language is more difficult because it is completely different from Indonesia language in the vocabulary, pronunciation, and the structure. This research tried to answer the research question: “Is there any significance different between students who are taught by using Script of AudioBook Media and they are without using AudioBook Script Media?”. The objective of this research is to find out the significance difference between students who are taught by using Script AudioBook Media and they are without using Script AudioBook Media. This research used quasi experimental research design with two group pre-test post-test. The first group as control group and the other one is as experimental group. The population of this research was students of second grade of Islamic Junior High School 2 Kota Blitar. The sampling technique that researcher used is a stratified technique which total number of population is 366 students. The population divided into 9 classes, and then the researcher chooses two classes to be control group and experimental group. The data was collected concluded the test. After giving the treatment, the student scores are improved significantly. It can be seen in result of calculation that showed the P-value is smaller than α (0.005). The P-value was 0.003. So, null hypothesis was rejected. It means that AudioBook Script media is effective in reading narrative text on the second grader of Islamic Junior High School 2 Kota Blitar. Therefore, the result of this research can be stated that there was significance different in students score between taught with AudioBook Script Media and without AudioBook Script Media. The students would more enthusiasm and enjoy in learning.
