Debate in has been thought in every school around the world and there are some competition that has been held locally and internationally. Debate in some researches was proven good for improving the aspect of students’ speaking skills or the indirect students’ aspect such as the confidence and critical thinking. Also debate is a good variety of teaching in the class. These benefits of debate brought the researcher to find what aspect could be learned from debate that can be brought to improve educational system especially in the curriculum of Indonesia. Actually in Indonesia the curriculum has mentioned and find that giving opinion and agree or disagree with the opinion has been mentioned but the researcher found that the varieties of performing that aspect were not much enough and some were not practical. In order to find some varieties of showing opinion and agree or disagree with someone the researcher investigated the debate competition especially WUDC 2019 in the class of ELT. The formulations of the research problems were “What are linguistics realization of agreement and disagreement used by debaters in WUDC 2019? What are politeness strategies performing agreement and disagreement used by debaters in their speech?”. Research method: 1) the research design of this study was quantitaive approach , 2) the Object of this study was the performance of World University Debate Competition 2019 finalist in the ELT class or group competitor, 3) the data source of this study were the utterances from every debaters in the final WUDC 2019 from the first speaker which is the leader of the government until the last speaker which is the whip of opposition. The finding showed that language realizations that performed from this research are 43 utterances or statements those are included agreement and disagreement. In the agreement section, itself performed specifically with an intensifier, synonym, repetition, and other agreement. In disagreement section performance is performed with indirect objection and direct objection. The finding is quite little and not predicted as much as the researchers thought.
