Abstract

This writing addresses the merits of classroom discussions to strengthen the students' cognitive skills. It proceeds from the discussion on cognitive skill, thinking skills and reasoning, language skills, research and mini research. Practical steps for implementing the teaching strategy are provided at the end of this writing.
