Abstract

Key word: Young Learners, Teaching and Learning, Problems. In the teaching and learning process have five important components. There are includes purpose, material, method, media, and evaluation. And the component is determined whether the teaching will be successful or not and also to make this process run well, effective and efficient. Although the components are important in teaching learning process, but not all the teachers using them in teaching learning activity. Because, the teacher doesn’t has deep knowledge about it. The research is to describe the components in teaching and learning briefly. Hopefully the teacher can help the teacher and students to improve in their knowledge. Specifically in English ability Focus of Research (1) what are the purposes of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (2) what materials are used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (3) what are the methods of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (4) what media are used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (5) what are the evaluation techniques used in English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (6) what are the problems and solutions of English teaching and learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. Purpose of the study (1) to describe the purposes of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (2) to describe materials are used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (3) to describe the methods of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (4) to describe media are used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (5) to desribe the evaluation techniques used in English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. (6) to describe the problems and solutions of English teaching and learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari. This research is descriptive design. This research intended to observe the English teaching learning process for the fourth and fifth grades students at SDN 03 Jabalsari, Sumbergempol, Tulungagung. The research design used by the researcher is descriptive qualitative design. Therefore the method of collecting data is interview, observation, documentation, and the data review analyzed by using inductive method. Research finding: (1) the purposes of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari are to develop the student English language and produce the student’s ability in English language skills. (2) The materials are used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari is adopted from the English book entitled Basic English Book. (3) The methods of English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari is listen and repeat technique only and nothing using specifically method. (4) The media used in the English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari are blackboard and pictures. (5) The evaluation techniques used in English teaching learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari are English task, formative test, and summative test. (6) The problems and solutions of English teaching and learning at SDN 03 Jabalsari is The problem faced of English teaching and learning at SDN III Jabalsari is dominated in the linguistic factors. The solution was taken the teacher is repeat again the material which doesn’t understand by students.
