Abstract
Gembyangan waranggono or known as graduation waranggono is an art that is carried out regularly every year in Ngrajek hamlet, Nganjuk regency, in order to graduate tayub dancers who have gone to school to become waranggono. The event was held on Friday Pahing in the Javanese calendar. The art of gembyangan waranggono is wrapped with various rituals that have a magical impression in every sequence of events. The procession of the graduation ceremony looks sacred because it wears special Javanese traditional clothes and various rituals in it. The local village community always enlivens the implementation of gembyangan waranggono, so the village is known as the warehouse of waranggono art. In addition to the waranggono graduation which became the main event, there is also a well which is considered sacred by the community and is part of a ritual that should not be missed, namely the Mbah Ageng well. This study uses qualitative research which seeks to see the phenomenon directly and also dig deeply into information about gembyangan waranggono and see the public's response to the art.
