Keywords: students’ perception, online assessment Assessment means process of collecting data to determine what extent, in what ways and how the educational goals have been achieved. The assessment does not only provide information about the competence of the students but also give effect to the development of learning in the classroom. Without assessment, it is difficult to know whether students’ learning efforts have achieved what was expected. This research problem in this researchwas “what is the students’ perception on the use of online assessment employed in English Learning Teacher?” The research design of this study was quantitative approach with a survey design. The population of this study is the students of SMPN 1 Sumbergempol espectially in students Eight class. The total of the population was 300 students. In this research, the sample was 50 students from VIII A and VIIIB class. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 16.0. The data showed that online assessment employed in English Learning Teacher has positive responses. Most students agree that this online assessment is effective because it is easy to do anywhere, and they feel confident doing the assessment, and the value that comes out immediately after collecting answers makes them excited. Online teacher assessment can be a form of student appreciation so that they are motivated in the learning process
