Muchammad Yusuf Shobrowi (2022): “ Code Mixing In English Learning At Mtsn 08 Blitar”. Sarjana Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic University Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr.Nurul Chojimah, MPd In everyday life, humans are required to communicate. They have used a tool to communicate called Language. In areas that have adopted multiple languages, such as Indonesia, it is not uncommon to find the phenomenon of mixing languages from one language to another. Do not escape from learning English using code mixing. In this study, researchers examined code mixing used in the English learning process at MTsN 08 Blitar. In this study, researchers have tried to find out what code mixing is dominant in MTsN 08 Blitar by using Hoffman's theory. And also to find out what reasons teachers use to implement code mixing in the process. Researchers have used a qualitative descriptive approach by using several instruments. Researchers have used interview instruments to get answers to the reasons why teachers use code mixing in the learning process. In the observation instrument, the researcher used observation sheets and observed students in their learning in class to get the dominant type of code mixing used in learning at MTsN 08 Blitar. In his research, researchers have found 3 types of code mixing used in the learning process, namely Intra Sentical Of Code Mixing as many as 94 utterances, Intra Lexical Of Code Mixing as many as 5 utterances, and the last Involving Change Of Pronunciation as many as 9 utterances. And it has been found that the reason the teacher uses code mixing in the teaching process is so that students can understand every explanation that uses English and to find out how far students can understand English learning. So it can be concluded that there are 3 types of code mixing used in the English learning process at MTsN 08 Blitar, and Intra Sentical code mixing is the dominant type used in the learning process. And the main reason teachers use code mixing is to clarify explanations and measure the extent of student understanding.
