Abstract

The behavior of hyperactive children has high motor movements with shown behavior like not being able to sit still for a certain period of time, often running there and here. Difficulty in maintaining focus on learning, unable to complete tasks given and easily distracted by external stimuli. The lack of on-task behavior in children with hyperactivity can affect in completing the tasks given. The child has difficulty in solving it. With the lack of on-task behavior in children, it is necessary get an intervention, which is useful to improving the child's on-task behavior. Behavior modification with the token economy technique is used as an approach. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of the token economy in improving on-task behavior of hyperactive children's learning activities. The study lasted for 16 sessions. Tokens used in the intervention was animal-shaped stickers. this research is using single subject experimental method with an A–B−A design. the participant is 5 years old children who is student of Inclusion Kindergarten with hyperactive behavior. Visual analysis was used to Analyse the data. The result shows that the token economy technique can improve on-task behavior of the children while studying.
