Keywords: Main Character, Conflict, Plot, Movie Movie and literature are two different things with the same goal. The purpose of film and literature is to create greatness in human imagination and understanding. Both movie and literature contributed to the progress of human civilization. Film and literature inspire and enrich each other's work. There are many different film techniques used to tell a story or narrative, apart from the literary elements such as plot, setting, characterizations, structure, and theme, which make up a text or screenplay. To analyze a film, the first thing to understand is its elements. This study focuses on the main character's conflict with the plot in the film. The formulation of the research problem was: 1) What types of conflict are found in the main character in Doctor Strange movie? 2) How can main character conflicts influence plot in Doctor Strange movie? The purposes of the study are to find out how can main character conflicts influence plot in “Doctor Strange” movie. The writer conducted qualitative research to answer the questions presented in the problem formulation while writing this thesis. In this thesis, two types of sources were used. The primary source was obtained by the dialogue script from “Doctor Strange” movie. The secondary source was from books or articles related to the theories, and the other source was taken from the internet. The result of the research shows that there are three types of conflicts in the “Doctor Strange” movie script, they are; psychological conflict, social conflict and physical conflict. The researcher found 6 psychological conflicts, 13 social conflicts, and 13 physical conflicts. All the conflicts influence the way of the plot starting from the beginning of the story, rising action, climax, falling action, and the resolution. All conflicts that happen lead to the movie's plot structure and lead to Doctor Strange, who started as a neurosurgeon and became a powerful sorcerer. x
