Abstract

Moral value concerned about one’s actions which includes the understanding of good and bad they experienced in daily life. Movie is one of the media to express those moral value in a form of audio visual. In this study the researcher is interested to analyze the moral values of an anime TV series entitled “Violet Evergarden” because moral value has a big influence towards the human life, and by analyzing the moral values, it is expected to build a good character for the audience. The purpose of this research are divided in to two parts. The first purpose of this research is to analyze the moral value in the series. The second purpose is to know how the moral value are represented in the series. This kind of research was library research. The data from this research was taken by watching the series and read the script of the series. Meanwhile, the technique of data collection which the researcher used was documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher conducted some steps. There are; (1). Watching the movie, (2). Reading the script, (3). Identifying moral value found in the movie, (4). Drawing Conclusion. Based on results of the study, it can be concluded that “Violet evergarden” anime TV series contains several moral value to inspire the audience, there are; honesty, courage, peace ability, self-confidence, self-discipline, fidelity, loyalty, respect, love and affection, unselfishness and sensitivity, kindness and friendliness, and finally, justice and mercy. The study also contains explanation on how the moral value are represented in the series.
