Abstract

This study aims to determine the behavior of searching for information online with Google on IAIN Tulungagung students in order to meet the needs of literature in doing lecture assignments using David Ellis' theoretical approach.. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews with 16 informants from IAIN Tulungagung students. Information seeking behavior of IAIN Tulungagung students can be seen that is in accordance with the theory put forward by David Ellis from starting to extracting, but only limited to using keywords on the search engine found on Google. The obstacles experienced by informants while searching for information on Google are the lack of precise keywords entered in the search engine, the internet network is less stable, and not all information presented on Google can be accessed for free
