S., M.Pd., Keywords: The Effect, Vocabulary, Quizizz One of the most important components of learning English is vocabulary. Due to the importance of vocabulary, interesting learning in vocabulary is needed. Interesting learning in vocabulary can be created with the use of appropriate learning media, one of learning media is game. One educational game suitable as a medium for learning vocabulary is the Quizizz application. However, this has not been proven before. Therefore, researcher prepared two classes where was taught by the Quizizz application and with conventional methods without Quizizz. The aim is to know the effectiveness of using the Quizizz application on students' vocabulary mastery of tenth-grade at SMAN 1 Pakel. The formulation of the research problems is: “Is there any significant difference score of vocabulary mastery between students taught by using the Quizizz application and those taught by using the conventional method without using Quizizz application of the tenth grade at SMAN 1 Pakel?” The purpose of this study is: to test the effect of the Quizizz application on vocabulary mastery of the tenth grade at SMAN 1 Pakel. The research design of this research was done by using Quasiexperimental with a quantitative approach. The population of this research is the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Pakel. The samples used were two classes X8 as the experimental class and class X-9 as the control class. The research instrument in this study was a test with pre-test and post-test. Data analysis used the Mann Whitney U-test. The finding of this research showed that the results of the Mann Whitney U-test are interpreted to the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.003. It can be concluded that the p-value (0.003) < α (5% 0.05). For the last conclusion the use of the Quizizz application in vocabulary learning for the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Pakel is effective.
