Abstract

BIDIKMISI students have a great burden of responsibility for themselves, the institute where they studied, their families, and the state. The pressures that become obstacle for BIDIKMISI students are financial problems, and academic pressures. A high resileince is needed by BIDIKMISI students to deal with these problems. Resilience can not arise by itself, it needs encouragement to form resilience. One of the factors that influence the resilience is gratitude. Gratitude has a function as a protective factor to strengthen the resilience in dealing with life problems. The purpose of this study was to find out the relation between gratitude and resilience in BIDIKMISI students class of 2019 UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. This study uses a correlational quantitative method with the number of respondents are 70 bidikmisi students class of 2019 UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. The Sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used pearson’s product moment with a significance value of r = 0, 734, n = 70, p< 0,05. A correlation coefficient value of 0.734 was obtained, which indicates that there is a significant positive relation between gratitude and resilience in BIDIKMISI students class of 2019 UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung.
