Keywords: Vocabulary, Kahoot!, Learning Media The world has become convenient caused of human intelligence, which has made technology a partner in completing activities from all spheres of existence. The development of new methods for teaching language is one of the effects of technology’s contribution to this evolution in education. Given that students’ limited vocabulary is an important problem in language teaching, teachers can use technology to overcome this problem. As technology becomes more sophisticated, a number of app-based learning platforms have emerged. Kahoot! is one of these apps. With Kahoot!, online interactive quizzes can be created by teachers. Therefore, Kahoot! can be used as an option for teachers in dealing with students’ limited vocabulary. Based on the previously mentioned, the researcher conducted a test on eighth-grade SMPN 1 Srengat in vocabulary learning using Kahoot! as a media, to find out whether there is any effectiveness of Kahoot!. In order for the following formulation of the research problem to occur: Is there any significant difference between students’ vocabulary mastery with and without being taught by using Kahoot!? In this study, data was collected through a quantitative approach with the type of quasi-experimental research. As a research site, SMPN 1 Srengat contains nine classrooms at each grade, with the population of this research was eighth grade. In accordance with the purposive sampling technique, the researcher used two classes as samples: eighth grade G as the control class and eighth grade H as the experimental class. Every sample received a test called the vocabulary test gradually. Afterward, the researcher carried out SPSS 16.0 to analyze the outcomes of the tests.Kahoot! has a good effect on vocabulary learning, this is proven based on the results of data processing, which shows that the average post-test of the experimental class is (82.78) higher than the average of the control class (77.72). Second, the result of the independent sample t-test analysis at the 0.05 significance level shows a significance value (sig-2 tailed) of 0.024 smaller than 0.05, which means there is a significant difference in vocabulary mastery taught using and without using Kahoot! as a learning media. In other words, Kahoot! as a learning media is effective in improving students’ vocabulary.
