In term of learning at school, especially in English lessons, vocabulary is an important thing to have. Lack of vocabulary, students’ learning process will be hampered so that students need to master vocabulary and they do not have difficulties in developing their language skills. But in reality there are still many students who have difficulty in mastering vocabulary, they have difficulty memorizing the meaning of words and remembering them. The use of the Hello English application as medium to help students to be more active in memorizing and improving their ability to master vocabulary. The research problem of this study is “Is there any significant difference scores between the vocabulary mastery before and after being taught using the Hello English Application?” The objective of this study is to know the significant difference scores before and after being taught by using Hello English application towards students’ vocabulary mastery. This study used a pre-experimental research design using one group pre-test and post-test design with quantitative approach. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP Darussalam Kademangan. The sample was class VIII A class which total of the students was 25 students consist of 18 male students and 7 female students. The instrument used by the researcher in this study was test. To analyze data the researcher use the paired sample T-Test with SPSS version 20.0. The result of this study revealed that the Hello English application is effectively used to improve the vocabulary mastery of the eighth grade students of SMP Darussalam Kademangan. It can be seen from the average score of students’ vocabulary before being taught using the Hello English application is 38.60. While the average score obtained after being taught using the Hello English application is 71.60. Then the p value found shows results that is smaller than the p level (0.000<0.05) in other words, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. From these results, it can be concluded that there is significant difference scores before and after being taught using the Hello English application towards students’ vocabulary mastery. In other words, the students’ vocabulary increased after using the Hello English application compared to before the students used the Hello English application.
