Abstract

This study analyzes how the form of gender discrimination against women contained in the novel Alwajhu Al-Ari Lilmar'athi Al-Arabiya. The results showed the presence of forms of gender discrimination in the novel Alwajhu Al-Ari Lilmar'athi Al- Arabiya in the form of genital mutilation, marginalization of women, streotype, exploitation, subordination, physical or nonphysical violence, to the double burden experienced by the character Aku (Nawal) and his sister. The form of resistance carried out by Nawal is in the form of expressing some of her ideas and thoughts through writing, demanding justice in the family and environment, attending international conferences by voicing women's voices, and her determination to find support to build gender equality so that women can rise from the slump and oppression they feel.
