Keywords : Sociolinguistic, Slang, Movie, Games Online, Free Guy Slang is a variety of language for informal and formal conversations used by certain people or communities to facilitate conversation. The medium for this slang can be through movies, music, online game conversations, and so on. This research discusses characters who speak slang in the movie Free Guy, which is a conversation between the real world and conversations in the online gaming community. This research discusses all the characters related to slang in the film Free Guy which is a conversation between the real world and conversations in the online gaming community. There are two problems in this thesis, namely: (1) What are the types of slang words used in the film "Free Guy?", and (2) What is the function of the slang words used in the film "Free Guy"? Therefore, this research aims to identify the types and functions of slang words used by all the characters in the film "Free Guy" using the theory of Allan and Burridge (2006). Researchers used a library research design with qualitative descriptive methods to describe and classify the results he found. The film script documentation method was used to collect data in the film Free Guy. In the research findings on the movie Free Guy, the entire dialog was used as the object of research on words containing slang words and their functions. The researcher collected data and found twenty-five slang words for all characters who uttered slang words in the movie, which were classified into four types of slang: the first 5 words of the fresh and creative type: noob, nope, dude, honey, and homie. Second, 9 words of flippant type: screws it up, what the hell, where the hell, holy hell, bullshit, dumbass, asshole, goddamn, and hoy shit, third, 5 slang words of imitative: gonna, wanna, gotta, kinda, and Y'all. Lastly, 7 words of clipping type: 'em, goin', cause, bro, mom, bud, dad. while the function for each slang can be found 6 functions from the theory used. first, to addres there is one word, while the two word form function to humiliate, the third function is to initiate relax conversation there are 7 words, to express impression function there are 5 words. fuction to reveal anger there are 9 words. This research suggests that there are slang words used for everyday life or for online games. The existence of slang can increase knowledge when interacting with other people, especially native speakers or in other communities.
