Abstract

ABSTRACT Alfa Rizky, Wahyu Aulia . 12203183034. 2022. The Factors Of Student’s Lack Of Confidence In Speaking English At Sman 1 Kalidawir. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Advisor: Muh. Basuni , M.Pd. Keyword: Speaking, lack of confidence, speaking is one of the four skills that must be mastered in learning English as a second/foreign language. The main goal in speaking is to understand information that aims to communicate between strangers. in speaking a foreign language should know the factors that can affect the quality of the language. Next is when the speaking activity in class, there will definitely be some problems. Speaking problems can hinder students when speak English. The author hopes that readers can understand the meaning of speaking and factors in the problem of lack of confidence in speaking and solutions to overcome it. The aims of this study is: ( 1).To know the causes of students lack of confidence in learning English at ten class grade at SMAN 1 KALIDAWIR The method in this research is qualitative reseach. The data obtained from observation and interview. Observation were used to obtain data to answer the problem formulation about internal and external factors that can make students lack of confidence in speaking English, while interview were used to obtain more in-depth data than answering questions. The results showed that there are two factors that make students lack of confidence when speaking English, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors come from within oneself and external factors come from outside. Internal factors consist that it be characterize or indicator of confidence, namely Ambition, Self- Employed, Optimist, Care, and tolerance. while external factors consist of learning environment. The learning environment is divided into two points, namely mother tongue and study clubs and peer supports. The solution to overcome these factors is to understand the purpose of learning English, force yourself to practice in a creative and consistent way, master and prepare the material. Keyword: Kurangnya kurangnya percaya diri, Berbicara Berbicara adalah salah satu dari empat keterampilan yang harus dikuasai dalam belajar bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa kedua/asing. Tujuan utama dalam berbicara adalah untuk memahami informasi yang bertujuan untuk berkomunikasi antara orang asing. dalam berbahasa asing harus mengetahui faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas bahasa tersebut. Berikutnya adalah ketika kegiatan berbicara di kelas, pasti akan ada beberapa masalah. Masalah berbicara dapat menghambat siswa ketika berbicara bahasa Inggris. Penulis berharap pembaca dapat memahami makna berbicara dan faktor-faktor penyebab kurang percaya diri berbicara dan solusi untuk mengatasinya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1).Untuk mengetahui penyebab siswa kurang percaya diri dalam belajar bahasa Inggris di kelas sepuluh di SMAN 1 KALIDAWIR. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara. Observasi untuk mendapatkan data untuk menjawab rumusan masalah tentang faktor internal dan eksternal yang dapat membuat siswa kurang percaya diri dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris, sedangkan wawancara digunakan untuk mendapatkan data yang lebih mendalam daripada menjawab pertanyaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua faktor yang membuat siswa kurang percaya diri saat berbicara bahasa Inggris, yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor internal berasal dari dalam diri sendiri dan faktor eksternal berasal dari luar. Faktor internal terdiri dari ciri atau indikator keyakinan yaitu Ambisi, Wiraswasta, Optimis, Peduli, dan Toleransi. sedangkan faktor eksternal terdiri dari lingkungan belajar. Lingkungan belajar dibagi menjadi dua poin, yaitu bahasa ibu dan klub belajar dan dukungan teman sebaya. Solusi untuk mengatasi faktor-faktor tersebut adalah memahami tujuan belajar bahasa Inggris, memaksakan diri untuk berlatih secara kreatif dan konsisten, menguasai dan mempersiapkan materi dengan baik.
