Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy of developing students' reading interest by the library of SMAN 1 Singgahan Tuban. This study used qualitative descriptive methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Technical data analysis used in this study is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. In qualitative research, data validity testers usually use trigulation techniques. The results showed strategies for developing students' reading interest, namely: a) working with teachers to integrate libraries with classroom learning, b) providing a collection of books that vary and suit students' needs and interests, c) provide library services, d) hold interesting and educational activities in the library, such as literacy Wednesdays, and e) provide appreciation and appreciation to students who actively read and borrow books in the library Keywords: development, reading interest, libraries
