Keywords: Stereotypes, Category of Stereotypes, Cinderella Movie In the process of learning other languages, sometimes a misperception might occur and lead to misunderstanding. Due to that issue, a sociolinguistic study is needed to be further learnt by EFL students, one of them is the aspect of stereotype. This research investigated the stereotypes in Cinderella movie. The formulation of the research problems were: (1)”What are stereotypes presented in the Cinderella movie?” (2)”What are the evidences of the stereotypes presented in the Cinderella movie?” The purpose of this study were: (1)”To know what kinds of stereotypes found in the Cinderella movie.” (2)”To describe the evidences of the stereotypes found in the Cinderella movie.” The research method: (1) The research design used in this study were descriptive qualitative with the researcher becoming the instrument. (2) The source of data were got from the movie entitled Cinderella and the transcript. (3) The data collected were all the utterances in the movie reflecting stereotypes. The result of this study showed that all the categories of stereotypes were found in this movie, namely gender, race, age, physical feature, language, occupation and socioeconomic status, and national group. Other stereotypes were also found in this movie related to personal’s value and belief. Next finding showed that there were 90 evidence data of stereotypes collected from this movie, in which 38 of it were the evidences for occupation and socioeconomic status category. Based on the findings, Cinderella Movie mostly reflected the stereotype in the term of occupation and socioeconomic status with percentage 42.2%. The result was influenced by the background story of Cinderella itself which took setting in earlier era when socioeconomic status mattered a lot in life. Handayani, Fajar Amalia. Keywords: Stereotip, Kategori Stereotip, Film Cinderella Dalam proses memelajari Bahasa lain, terkadang salah persepsi mungkin terjadi dan mengarah pada kesalahpahaman. Karena masalah itu, ilmu sosiolinguistik perlu dipelajari lebih lanjut oleh murid EFL, salah satunya dari aspek stereotip. Penelitian ini menginvestigasi stereotip dalam film Cinderella. Rumusan masalah penelitian adalah sebagai berikut:(1)”Apa saja stereotip yang terdapat dalam film Cinderella?” (2)”Apa saja bukti dari stereotip yang terdapat dalam film Cinderella?” Tujuan penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut (1)“Untuk mencari tahu macam jenis stereotip yang terdapat dalam film Cinderella.” (2)“Untuk menjabarkan bukti dari stereotip yang ditemukan di film Cinderella.” Metode penelitiannya ialah: (1) Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif dengan peneliti yang menjadi instrumen penelitiannya. (2) Sumber data diambil dari film yang berjudul Cinderella beserta transkripnya. (3) Data yang dikumpulkan ialah seluruh ucapan di dalam film yang menggambarkan stereotip di dalamnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua kategori stereotip dapat ditemukan di dalam film ini, yaitu gender, race (ras), age (usia), physical feature (bentuk fisik), language (Bahasa), occupation and socioeconomic status (pekerjaan dan status social), dan national group (golongan nasional). Stereotip lainnya juga dapat ditemukan di fi mini terkait dengan kepercayaan dan nilai personal individu. Penemuan berikutnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 90 data sebagai bukti stereotip yang dikumpulkan dari film ini, dimana 38 diantaranya merupakan bukti untuk kategori pekerjaan dan status social dan ekonomi. Berdasarkan penemuan tersebut, film Cinderella paling banyak menggambarkan stereotip dalam bidang pekerjaan dan status sosial serta ekonomi dengan presentase 42.2%. hasil tersebut dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang cerita Cinderella yang mengambil tata waktu di jaman dahulu, dimana status sosial dan ekonomi masih sangat penting dalam kehidupan.
