Keywords: Teachers’ Strategy, Teaching Listening, Listening Comprehension This research is motivated by phenomenon that Listening is one of the essential skills in learning the English language. Someone can not speak and deliver their opinion before listening first. But the learner has various background knowledge and they have a different ability in the learning process. Therefore, the use of strategy in teaching listening is very important in order to arrange the classroom well and gain the learning objective well, namely listening and conclude the contextual meaning of social functions, structure text, and language features in the text narrative of oral text in the form of fiction and non-fiction with critically, creatively and politely related to the topic. The focus of the research problems is the strategy used by teachers in teaching listening and how do the teachers implement it at the First Graders in SMA Negeri 1 Karangrejo? The objectives of the research is to identify and describe: (1) Theteachers’ strategies in teaching listening comprehension, (2) The implementation of the strategies that teachers use inteaching listening comprehension at the First Graders in SMA Negeri 1 Karangrejo. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach the type of case study research. Data collection techniques used interview, obsevation checklist, and documentation. The research participants were two English teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Karangrejo. Data analysis was carried out by steps of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion: drawing/verifying. Checking the validity of the data is done through credibility, and dependability. The results of this study indicate that teachers use several strategies in teaching listening that is Bottom-Up processes, Top-Down Processes, Metacognitive Strategy, and Socio-Affective strategy. This strategy can really be used in learning, so that through fun learning and good interaction with classmates, a comfortable class can be created and the teaching and learning process can be optimal. In order the exercises such as answering question, matching the picture, fill in the blanks, true or false, and classify the word. In supporting the teaching and learning process, teachersalso use several media: song and short movie. Then, in implementing those strategies, the teachers divide the activity into three stages of teaching listening. The stages are pre-listening, while-listening and post-listening. When teaching English, especially listening skills, the first teacher (WW) will start by asking a few questions about the previous material and then ask questions related to the material that will be taught today. However, unlike the second teacher (EW), she will start with a little introduction to the material that will be taught.
