Keywords: Effectiveness, Media, Wattpad Application, Vocabulary Mastery Vocabulary is the core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basis for how learners speak, listen, read and write. Through vocabulary students can understand how words work in written and spoken forms. Without insufficient vocabulary is impossible to achieve that commonly, students cannot compose a sentence or phrase in speaking, even writing and reading because they are poor in vocabulary. Because of the importance of vocabulary, it requires teaching and learning process with a suitable media that invites students' participation. Wattpad Application is one of online media that is expected to enhance students to be more active in English class. The study was done to verify whether or not the use of Wattpad was effective to teach students‟ vocabulary mastery. The formulation of the research problem was "Is there any significant different vocabulary mastery of the student’ taught by using Wattpad Application?” Research method: 1) the research design of this study was Pre-experimental with quantitative approach, 2) the population of this study was eight grade students of MTs Imam Al Ghozali Panjerejo, 3) the samples were VIII class consisted of 26 students which were selected by using purposive sampling, 4) the research instrument was test, 5) the data analysis was using Paird Sample T-test. The findings showed that Wattpad Application was effective to improve vocabulary mastery of the students. The effectiveness of the Wattpad Application can be shown in the following descriptions: 1) the mean score of pre-test was 9.19, and after being taught using Wattpad Application the mean score of post-test was 13.81. 2) the result of computing the mean score of pre-test and post-test of using paird sample t-test at significance level of 0.05 showed that the significance values (sig-2 tailed) was 0.00 smaller than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). The findings of this study employing Wattpad Application showed that researcher believed Wattpad Applications to be an effective way for teaching students vocabulary ability. Based on the result, when students practice vocabulary ability and get used to it, students will become more proficient in English.
