Keywords: Vocabulary, Effectiveness, Board Race Game One of the most important international languages is English. The components that can be taught to students are related to pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. In order not to have difficulty in learning English vocabulary needs something interesting to do, just like board race games. Board race game is a fun game that has a board as a medium and there are two people or two or more groups to "race" each other according to a set of rules. The purpose of this game is to improve students' vocabulary mastery, and can be used as an alternative medium in teaching English. The research problems in this study is: Is there any significantly difference in the vocabulary mastery score of students majoring in Islamic Family Law in the second semester who are taught with and without being taught using the Board Race Game at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung? The objectives of this study is: To find out whether the board race game is effective or not to improve vocabulary mastery of Islamic Family Law students in the second semester of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. The research methods used in this study is: Quantitative methods. This study used a quasi-experimental design where there were two groups involved, namely the experimental group and the control group. The data collection method is: Data is collected during student learning in class. Tests were used to collect data in the study. The pre test was carried out on the same two groups before treatment, then the post-test was carried out on two more groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The results of a study conducted at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung involving the use of a board race game to improve the vocabulary of 2nd semester Islamic Family Law students in classes 2E and 2A showed that there was a significant difference in value between the students' vocabulary improvement before and the current use of the board race game. After being taught, the mentioned model showed a difference. This is shown by the lower pre-test scores and higher post-test scores. Before the application of the board race game Learning Model, the average pretest score was 52.92. After the application of the board race game Learning Model, the average score was 84.92. This shows that the results showed that the board race game learning model improved students' vocabulary comprehension and made them active and excited. Therefore, it can be concluded that the board race game model is an effective approach to teach contextual vocabulary and improve students' vocabulary.
