Dr. Dwi Astuti Wahyu Nurhayati, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords:Quizizz, Vocabulary, Engagement Technology has grown recently. In education field, there are several platforms provided to support learners in classroom. The platforms can be for assessment, quiz, or material to enhance English skill. One of the platforms which popular in Indonesia is Quizizz. Quizizz has several features. The newest feature is Quizizz Paper-Mode. The existence of Quizizz paper mode makes it easier for teachers to give quizzes to students without asking them to bring smartphones. The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of Quizizz Paper-Mode on students’ engagement and Vocabulary Mastery of 7th graders at SMP Islam Sunan Gunung Jati Ngunut Tulungagung. The researcher formulated the research questions as follows: (1) Is it effective to use Quizizz Paper Mode on students’ engagement? (2) Is it effective to use Quizizz Paper Mode on learning English vocabulary? In this study, the researcher used Quasi-Experimental research method. The population of this study was the 7th graders of SMP Islam Sunan Gunung Jati Ngunut Tulungagung. The sample of this study were 58 students which selected by using purposive sampling technique. The instrument of this study is vocabulary test consist of 25 multiple choice questions and 19 questions of questionnaire. The test was given twice in pre-test and post-test. After conducting the both tests, the researcher analysed the data using SPSS 22 with the formula paired sample ANOVA to know the difference of mean scores of the pre-test and post-test. The results of this study showed that Quizizz Paper-Mode was effective in students’ vocabulary mastery and engagement. This result could be seen based on data the data analysis in the following points: 1) the mean score of students on the pre-test was 72.28 for experimental group and 70.14 for control group. 2) the mean of the post-test was 91.45 for experimental group and 77.10 for control. 3) the result of ANOVA at the significance level of 0.05 indicated the significant values (sig-2 tailed) was 0.001 smaller than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). As the result, there is significant difference in students’ vocabulary mastery and engagement using Quizizz Paper-Mode.
