Abstract
This article examines the application of e-money from the perspective of sharia economic law. Along with the development of financial technology, the use of e-money is increasingly popular, but it is important to ensure that this payment instrument is in accordance with sharia principles. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this study explores how e-money can be applied without violating the basic principles of sharia, such as the prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir. The results of the study indicate that the use of e-money is permitted in sharia law with several conditions, namely the existence of a clear contract, a halal source of funds, and avoidance of usury and uncertainty. This article ends with recommendations for e-money service providers to ensure sharia compliance in their operations.
