Pd Keyword: Monopoly Game, Vocabulary Mastery This research was conducted to apply monopoly game in overcoming the problems faced by students in mastering vocabulary. This study aims to improve the vocabulary mastery of the third graders in SDI Miftahul Huda Tulungagung. Monopoly game is a paper game on which it is written vocabulary which every player should know. This game is not much different from the original monopoly rule. The difference of the rule in this study was the students have to read and memorize the vocabulary when they were stopped on their position. The purpose of the game is to master all the vocabulary plots on paper through purchasing and mastery of vocabulary. The formulation of the problem in this research is "How can monopoly game improve vocabulary mastery of the third grade students of SDI Miftahul Huda Tulungagung". The purpose of the discussion is "To describe the application of the monopoly game to improve vocabulary mastery of the third grade students of SDI Miftahul Huda Tulungagung." Research Methods: 1) This research used classroom action research design, using a model from Masnur Muslich with each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. 2) The subjects in this study were all students of class III SDI Miftahul Huda Tulungagung, consisting of 18 female and 10 male. 3) The instruments used in this study were questionnaires, test, and field notes. 4) The data were processed qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of this study indicates that monopoly games could improve students' ability in vocabulary mastery. This improvement could be seen through the results of students’ scores. In the preliminary study test, 57% of the third graders of SDI Miftahul Huda Tulungagung got a score below 75. So it could be concluded that the student score was still lacking and not yet reached the KKM (Criteria Minimum Score). While in the first cycle, there were 19 students or 68% of students passed and 9 students or 32% of students did not pass. This means that the success criteria had not been reached, because the established success criteria standard is 75%. Then, in the second cycle, almost all students had an improvement in the score of post test 2, it was found that 23 students or 82% of students have passed. In addition, field note data shows that students listened and paid attention to the teacher when the teacher explained the material and how to play a monopoly game so that the students either did not make a class noise or active in the game, so the students’ score improved. In conclusion, monopoly games can solve student problems in memorizing vocabulary and it also can improve students' vocabulary mastery as well.
