Abstract

The thesis entitled “The Implementation of Islamic Work Ethics in Improving Employees’ Performance at PT. Rama Manggala Gas Blitar” written by Lulik Aslikah, Register Number 17042153064, Faculty of Economic and Islamic Business, Syaria Economic Department, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung. Advisor: Nur Aziz Muslim, M.H.I. The background of this research was Islamic work ethics applied by the employees of PT. Rama Manggala Gas, by relating to the principles which affecting the employees’ performance, by applying Islamic work ethics on the employees in order to improve the performance. PT. Rama Manggala Gas is located in Imam Bonjol street, Sananwetan, Blitar. This company proposed religion to be work foundation, by requiring every employee to attend the company activities which was related with spiritual value. The formulations of this research are: (1) How is the Islamic work ethics applying in PT. Rama Manggala Gas as basic in implementing company activities? (2) How is the implementation of Islamic work ethics in improving employees’ performance? (3) What problems and solutions are found in implementing Islamic work ethic at PT. Rama Manggala Gas? The objectives of this research are: (1) To find out the Islamic work ethics applying in PT. Rama Manggala Gas as basic in implementing company activities. (2) To find out the implementation of Islamic work ethics in improving employees’ performance. (3) To find out the problems and solutions are found in implementing Islamic work ethic at PT. Rama Manggala Gas. In this research, researcher used qualitative method with research fact type. The data source were primer and secondary data. The technique of data collection used observation, interview, and documentation. Then, that was analyzed by interactive analytic model. Based on the result of analysis, the researcher found that Islamic work ethics was the part of Islamic concept in order to create good personality in working. Islamic work ethics also emphasized that working is a part of worship and life source. In this research, employees’ performance was affected by Islamic work ethics, then the higher Islamic work ethics was higher employees’ performance. Thus, Islamic work ethics affected on employees’ performance in PT. Rama Manggala Gas. Key words: work ethics, performance, improvement.
