State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Sukarsono, M.Pd. Keywords: Literature, Value, Character, Movie, Script In this globalization era, learning a language can come to many sources. One of them is from a movie. A movie can influence people easily because it is really close to people’s lives. In movie, people can get some values. Value can be obtained by the views of those who watch the movie. Movies have many values such as moral, social and education. Like one that exists in the movie Dead Poets Society, we can know how to teach unorthodox teaching methods by Mr. Keating and how Mr. Keating inspires his students. Therefore, in our real lives, we can apply it point that consist in that movie, so that we can apply the better life. The formulations of research problem were: 1) what values are reflected by the characters in “Dead Poet Society” movie? The purpose of this research is: 1) to describe what values are reflected by the characters in “Dead Poet Society” movie The method that is utilized in this research: 1) this research design of this study was library research. 2) In this study, the data were in the form of dialogue and seeing movie containing values presented in The Dead Poets Society movie. 3) Since the design of this study belonged to library research, documentation method was used to collect the data. 4) In this research, analysis of data utilizes many stages, for example: watching the movie, making gab transcript, reading the transcript, identifying and agglomerating to find moral, social and educational value and concluding the findings. Of that analysis of data, the researcher finds several movies as follow: 1) moral values that cover to be opened, enthusiasm, honesty, self- confident, brave, cheerful and open-minded. 2) Social values consisting of friendliness, solidarity, independence, respect, attention, family, empathy and sympathy. 3) Education values also clear-headed cover creative, religious, discipline, curiosity and appreciating achievement. In addition, the intrinsic elements include plot, setting, conflict, characters, etc. They had roles to build up the total story of the movie.
