Keyword : Teaching Vocabulary, WhatsApps as media This study is about The Effectiveness of Using WhatsApp as media in Teachimg Vocabulary at of Fourth Grader at SDN 1 Bandung. The background of the research was based on the vocabulary as one of the important aspects in learning English because the students may not have good ability to do communication when they do not have good enough mastery on vocabulary. So, the researcher invertigated the effectiveness of using WhatsApp to solve the difficulties to understand the meaning of words when learning vocabulary to the fourth grader students at SDN 1 Bandung. This research was intended to answer the following research questions; How is the students’ achievement in Vocabulary text before and after being taught by using WhatsApps? . The population of the research was the fourth grader of SDN 1 Bandung. The research design was an experimental study on a group that consists of 23 students. The sample of this study used purposive sampling technique, by which the reseacher selected and Class IVB that consists of 23 students. While the research instrument used was test. The experimental stages carried out by the researcher was pretest, treatment and posttest. This researcher analyze the data by using Paired Sample T-test with SPSS 16.00, Based on statistical calculations using SPSS 16.00, in table 4.11 in chapter IV, the significance value is 0.000, and it is lower than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05) it can be concluded that there is an alternative hypothesis (Ha) that is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho ) rejected means that there is a difference in students' vocabulary achievement scores before and after being taught using WhatsApp. There is a difference in Paired Sample Statistics which means that before being taught to use WhatsApp as media it was 61.09 and after being taught to use WhatsApp as media was 77.39, it means that the average before being taught to use WhatsApp as media was lower than after being taught to use WhatsApp as media. media. Thus it can be concluded that WhatsApp is effective used in increasing the vocabulary of students in the fourth grader of SDN 1 Bandung.
