M.Pd Keywords: Improving, English Speaking Score, Teaching Speaking using Application, VOA Learning English Application Speaking is one of the most important English skills. Students was get English lessons when they in Elementary School to Senior High School. But, most of them still have difficulties in speaking English. It caused that they still lack of English vocabulary, they still shy to speak English, they get bored in learning process, etc. Learning media is very needed to help them interested in learning English, especially speaking. That why teaching speaking should be interested. Applying VOA Learning English Application is one of the ways to help the students improving their speaking ability in learning English. This study was carried out to improve the students’ speaking ability through VOA Learning Application in the second year of MTsN 2 Tulungagung in academic year 2019/2020. The subject of this study was 8-B class and consisted of 35 students. The research problem was formulated as followed as follows: How can student’s speaking ability be improved by using VOA Learning English Application in Eighth Grade of MTsN 2 Tulungagung? The purpose of the study is to improve student’s speaking ability by using VOA Learning English Application and to know how VOA Learning English Application can improve student’s speaking ability in Eighth Grade of MTsN 2 Tulungagung. The method of the research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The classroom action research design collaborated with English teacher of MTsN 2 Tulungagung as an observer and collaborator. This study was conducted following Kemmis and Taggart model with the following procedures of the action research: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. The data were gathered in this study through interview, questionnaire, and test. The result of the study showed that there was improvement of students’ speaking ability. Most of students gradually gained good scores at the end of each cycle. The score of Minimum Master Criterion – KriteriaKetuntasan Minimal (KKM) of English lesson was 75 (seventy five). In preliminary study there were not students who passed the KKM. In the first cycle there were only 7 students who passed the KKM. In the second cycle there were 30 students who passed the KKM. In addition, there was a positive response from the students and English teacher about implementing the action. In conclusion VOA Learning English Application could improve students’ speaking ability.
