ABSTRACT Rizqiyah, Nisau Zulfi. Student Registered Number (17203163042). The Practice of Teaching Speaking at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri. A thesis of English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung 2020. Advisor: Dr. Susanto, SS., M.Pd. Keywords: Speaking Programs, Teaching Speaking Activities. Speaking is one of the important skills that students have to master it, to communicate orally each other. Speaking is a skill that students have to practice to improve their speaking skills. In this case, students have to master several speaking components such as comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, and fluency. Mastering is an important aspect of learning English. The level of success is measured by the ability to interact with other people using English. Pare is a non-formal educational institution that offers many English language programs, one of which is speaking. The speaking program that is presented aims to improve students' speaking skills. One of the educational institutions in Pare whose teaching practice focuses on speaking is The Daffodils English Course. This research leads to the practice of teaching speaking at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri. The formulations of the problems in this research are: (1) How is the teaching and learning process of speaking at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri? (2) How can the teacher facilitate students in learning to speak at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri? The research objectives in writing this thesis were to find out: (1) The teaching and learning process of speaking at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri. (2) The teacher's way of facilitating students in learning to speak at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri. The research design in this research was a case research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were teachers and three students of The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri. Researcher used observation, interviews, and documentation as methods of collecting research data. Data analysis in this research was data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To check the confidence of research data used triangulation of data sources. The results of this research showed that The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri establishes ten speaking programs to support students' speaking skills. The programs are: (a) Stepping Stone, (b) Speak First, (c) Listen and Talk, (d) Step One, (e) Speak Second, (f) Interview, (g) Vocabulary, (h) Step Two, (i) Public Speaking, (j) Step Three. Meanwhile, there are seven activities that support the speaking program, namely: (a) Fluency, (b) Accuracy with Words and Pronunciation, (c) Appropriacy, (d) Relevant Length, (e) Responding and Initiating, (f) Range of Words and Grammar , and (g) Discourse Maker. Meanwhile, there are three ways for the teacher to facilitate students' speaking at The Daffodils English Course Pare Kediri, namely: (a) Prompter, (b) Participant, (c) Feedback Provider. Meanwhile, there are five ways teachers evaluate student learning outcomes, namely: (a) Oral presentation, (b) Interview, (c) Role Play, (d) Translation, (e) Reading Aloud. The conclusion of this research is that effective speaking learning is learning that uses various programs combined with several language skills activities. Thus, students do not feel bored with the speaking learning process. Learning speaking can be enjoyed and fun with various speaking program activities. Student learning outcomes will be evaluated by the teacher for further improvement.
