ABSTRACT Muna, Nailil. Students Registered Number. 17203163220.2020. An Analysis of Moral Values in “Searching” Movie. English Department. Faculty of Education and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Faizatul Istiqomah, M.Ed. Keywords: Moral Values, Movie, Searching Movie is a medium for displaying a moving pictures which there is a story and sounds inside. Movie as mass medium can be enjoyed by everyone of all ages and social backgrounds. One of element in the movie is a moral value. This is main consideration because moral values in the movie can give an influence to audiences. Moral value is a standard behavior about good and bad which determined by individual’s behavior and choices. Moral values divided into two types, there are value of being and value of giving. The aim of this study is find the moral values in “Searching” movie. The formulation questions of the research problems were: (1) what are types of moral values found in “Searching” movie? (2) what are the most dominant types of “Searching” movie? The purpose of this study were: (1) to explain what types of moral values found in “Searching” movie (2) to find out the most dominant types of “Searching” movie. The research method: (1) The research design used in this study were descriptive qualitative with content analysis. (2) the source of data got from the movie entitled “Searching” and the dialogue subtitle. (3) the data collected were all the utterances or dialogue in the movie containing moral values. From the analysis, the result of this study showed that some types of moral values found in this movie, researcher found that there were two types of moral values, values of being and values of giving. In “Searching” movie, there found three values from values of giving. They are self-confidence, peace of ability and honesty. Meanwhile from values of giving, there are found love and affection, kindness, dependability, and sensitivity.
