Keywords: semantics, figurative language, song lyrics, BTS Semantics is one of the important branches of linguistics which explores about the meaning of the language. This study is intended to analyze the implicit or connotative meaning that contained in the selected BTS song’s lyrics. The researcher chose BTS’s songs to be discussed because BTS has become phenomenon in all around the world. Their songs have been listened and sung by everyone from the young to old generations. Thus, people who listened to their songs need to understand what the writer of the songs is trying to convey. This study is needed due to the reason, that in the selected BTS songs there are numerous lyrics that is needed to be analyze, and they are quite difficult to be interpreted by general people. The research problems in this research are: 1) What types of figurative language are used in selected BTS songs from album “LOVE YOUSELF: Her”? and 2) What is the meaning of figurative language used in selected BTS songs from album “LOVE YOUSELF: Her”? While, the purposes of this study are: 1) To find out the types of figurative language used in selected BTS songs from album “LOVE YOURSELF: Her” and 2) To analyze the meaning of figurative language used in selected BTS songs from album “LOVE YOURSELF: Her” This study was designed as a library study. The researcher used qualitative as the approach of this study. The data used in this research are selected BTS song’s lyrics. The research instrument used in this study is the researcher herself. In collecting the data, the researcher used documentation technique. Moreover, in analyzing the data in this research, the researcher used Miles & Huberman (2014), content analysis, they are data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion. To verify the data, the researcher used the theory triangulation and source triangulation to check the trustworthiness of the data. The results of this research found that there are nine types of figurative language used in selected BTS song from album LOVE YOURSELF: Her. They are 11 simile, 26 metaphor, 8 personification, 1 synecdoche, 1 paradox, 6 symbol, 3 allegory, 12 hyperbole, and 1 apostrophe. Based on this finding, the researcher found out that the most dominant type of figurative language used in selected BTS songs is metaphor that used to compare two different things without using comparative words such as “like” or “as”. Moreover, the meaning which is contained in the selected BTS song’s lyrics are all interpreted as implicit or connotative meaning. E.g., “You’re the source of my dream” which mean that the listeners or more specific, their fans, ARMY, are more like the inspiration which always inspire BTS to achieve more toward their dreams and ambitions.
