Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic University of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Muh Basuni, M.Pd. Keywords: correlation, self-esteem, academic procrastination. Procrastination as a psychological factors that become universal problem has been the focus of some researchers in the current years. Procrastination is the act of delaying or postponing work or task. Procrastination usually affected by self-esteem and it will give impact on students’ quality in their learning process. The objective of the research was to know the correlation between students’ self-esteem and academic procrastination at English Department of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. The sample of this research was the eight semester students at English Education Department of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung academic year 2021/2022. This research used a quantitative approach with correlational design. There were 40 students taken as the sample of this research which is determined by purposive sampling technique. The instruments used questionnaire of students’ self-esteem and academic procrastination. The data analysis used Pearson Product Moment Correlation of SPSS version 25. The result of data analysis showed that there was low correlation between students’ self-esteem and academic procrastination. It can be proved by the index value of correlation coefficient was found -0.326. Based on the table interpretation, the index value of correlation coefficient (-0.326) was at level low correlation at interval 0.20-0.399. The direction was negative because the value of self-esteem increase, the value of academic procrastination decrease. In conclusion, it can be stated there is negative correlation between students’ self- esteem and academic procrastination at English Department of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung.
