Sarjana Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University of Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr. Erna Iftanti, S.S., M.Pd. Keyword : e-learning, perception, speaking learning, online speaking learning. As social being, human cannot be separated from interaction with other human. The interaction between people mosty occur through verbal communication, and speaking skill play a dominant role in the communication. Every nation use different language for communication, and English exist as bridge for communication between countries that do not speak in the same language, that is why English is considered as an international language. In the pandemic era, there are several techniques and learning media that are used for online speaking learning activity, one of them is applying peer feedback through WhatsApp. Peer Feedback is one of techniques that used by English teacher in conducting their teaching activities, for example in writing and speaking class. This technique can be implemented in WhatsApp because this app has some features that can support the implementation of peer feedback technique. The purpose of the study is to know the students’ perception on peer feedback given through whatsapp during speaking class. The research design of this study was quantitative approach with survey design. The total of the population in this research is 213 fourth semester students of English Education Department UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung who have been taught by using peer feedback through WhatsApp in Speaking Class. To collect the data, the researcher distributed the e-questionnaire through google form to 113 samples who have been chosen randomly. And The data were analyzed statistically by using SPSS 25.0. The result of this study showed that most of the students have a positive perception on peer feedback given through WhatsApp in speaking class. After getting or giving feedback, students get some positive impact such as they are realizing their mistakes in speaking, besides that it makes them trying not to do the same mistakes, and motivates them to do better in speaking. Other positive impacts that the students stated are peer feedback given through WhatsApp in speaking class can improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and give them knowledge about some phrases that they never know before. Peer feedback given through WhatsApp also make students’ involvement in speaking class increased. The increase of students' involvement in class is most likely because of the students feeling more confident, they don’t feel intimidated, and their fear of being wrong in speaking class has reduced
