Keywords: Video Tutorial, Writing, Procedure Text, Pandemic Covid 19. Procedure text is a type of text that tells instructions for doing something. Students must have the skill to write a good procedure text, especially the vocabulary or generic structure of procedure text. Teaching writing procedure text must be interesting. One way to create an interesting teaching and process is to write procedure text by using media such as video tutorials. Students can leam about procedure text during covid 19 pandemic by watching video tutorials using smartphones. The formulation of the research problem: Is there any significant difference in students’ writing of procedure text between the students who are taught by using video tutorial and those who are not taught by using video tutorial at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in pandemic?. The objective of the research is to investigate the use of video tutorials to teach students English writing at the ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in pandemic covid 19. The purpose of this research is to know the significant difference in students’ writing of procedure text between the students who are taught by using video tutorial and those who are not taught by using video tutorial at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in pandemic. Research method: 1). The Research design of this study was a Quasi- Experimental two groups, Control and Experimental group. 2). The population of this research class IX at MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung. 3). The sample of the research is IX-E and IX-J. 4). Purposive sampling technique. 5). The variables of this research are two variables, independent and dependent. 6). The instrument of this research with the test, namely pre-test, and post-test. 7). The data analysis was using the SPSS 25.0 version of Mann-Whitney. The findings showed that Video Tutorial was effective to teach students’ writing of procedure text at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in a pandemic. The effectiveness of the video tutorial can be shown firom different scores in students’ writing procedure text between the students who are taught by using video tutorial and those who are not taught by using video tutorial at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in the foliowing descriptions. The result of Mann-Whitney with SPSS 25.0 for Windows, it can be seen at the Asymp sig. was 0.002. It was less than sig 0.05 (5%). So, it means that the altemative hypothesis (Ha) that States there is any significant difference in students writing procedure text between the students who are taught by using video tutorial and those who are not taught by using video tutorial at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in pandemic is accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) that States there is no significant in students writing procedure text between the students who are taught by using video tutorial and those who are not taught by using video tutorial at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung in pandemic is rejected. So, using Video Tutorial was effective in teaching writing of procedure text at ninth grade of MTs Negeri 1 Tulungagung.
