M.Pd Keywords: Young Learners, Teaching English, Strategies Teaching English to young learners is an important thing to do. Teaching English in young learners is the best time to learn language. Considering the characteristic of young learner will make sense that the students in kindergarten are easy to accept what they learn and use it as the base of teaching English for the next level. In young learners, age is very important to encourage their intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development. In Indonesia, English for young learners is still vague, because there is not any curriculum for English in kindergarten. However, some of private kindergarten teach English to their young learners as local subject, include RA AL AMIN Sidoarjo. In teaching and learning English, RA AL AMIN Sidoarjo implemented the strategies in teaching English with cooperative, contextual, expository, inquiry, total physical response, and games. The formulation of the research problems in this qualitative research were (1) What are the teachers‟ strategies implemented in teaching English at RA AL AMIN, Tarik Sidoarjo District?, and (2) What are the factors that support and hinder the teachers implementing the strategy in teaching English at RA AL AMIN Tarik Sidoarjo District? The purposes in this qualitative research were (1) To find out the teachers‟ strategies implemented in teaching English at RA AL AMIN, Tarik Sidoarjo District, and (2) To find out the factors that support and hinder the teachers‟ strategies implemented in teaching English at RA AL AMIN, Tarik Sidoarjo District. The design used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research design. the subjects studied are group B students aged 6-7 years together with the teachers of class B. The technique used in collecting data are interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used reducing data, display data and verify data. The result showed that implementing some strategies in learning English helped the students to get success. 1) There are five teacher strategies that are implemented in teaching English, such as listen and do, listen and repeat, answer and question, games and total physical respons. The five strategies encourages children to be more active and willing to socialize, be happy, feel fun, and enjoy the classroom. It is also helps students understand the lesson easily as it is relatable with their lives. 2) There were some aspects that support and hinder the teachers‟ strategies implemented in teaching English at RA AL AMIN Tarik Sidoarjo. a) Supporting factors are divided into two, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors are school facilities and infrastructure used to support English language learning such as learning media, and for external factor is parental support to learning English. b) Hinder factors in teaching English for young learners are (1) lack of training, (2) lack of knowledge, and (3) lack of resources, (4) the government policy, (6) class size, (7) teachers‟ own skills and confidence in English, and time pressures.
