Maula, Kilyatul. Nim. 12203183099. 2022 The Effectiveness of Using Hello English Application on Vocabulary Achievement for the Eight Grade Students’ at MTs PSM Tanen Rejotangan. Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic University (UIN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Susanto S.S., MP.d. Keywords: effectiveness, vocabulary, Hello English Application Vocabulary is an essential tool for mastering all English skills. Lack of vocabulary can affect students' confidence in learning English. Learning media can increase students' motivation and consequently it also to increase their vocabulary. One of learning media to stimulate the students’ learning vocabulary is Hello English application. This study is intended to verity whether Hello English application is effective to improve students’ vocabulary achievement. To achieve this goal, the formulation of the problem in this study was “Is there any significant difference in students’ vocabulary scores before and after being taught using the Hello English application at MTs PSM Tanen Rejotangan?”. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with pre-experimental research methods. The population in this study was class VIII MTs PSM Tanen Rejotangan, the sample in this study was class VIII A MTs PSM Tanen Rejotangan in which total of them 22 students. The instrument used in this research was a tests. The data analysis used was the paired sample t-test. As stated the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Hello English application was effective in increasing the score of vocabulary achievement of the eighth grade students’ at MTs PSM Tanen Rejotangan. The effectiveness was showed from the increase the mean of students’ score in pre-test and post-test. From, 38.4091 it increased 57.7273. Then the results of the paired sample t- test showed that the significant value was 0.000 and it was smaller than 0.050 (0.000 < 0.050). In other words, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it can be concluded that there was significant difference in the scores of students' vocabulary between before and after being taught using the Hello English application Suggestions from the researcher for the teacher and students must using the Hello English application for teaching and learning English, because Hello English application is fun application and can be motivated to increase vocabulary achievement. For the researcher who researches in the same field is to research more perfect than this research, so that many people know that the Hello English application has many benefits for learning English.
