The Correlation between Students’ Linguistic Intelligence and Their Writing Achievement on the Third Semester at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in Academic Year 2021/2022. Thesis. Keywords: linguistic intelligence, writing achievement. In teaching and learning English, students are taught to master the four skills of English. They are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the practice, the skills that most often taught in classroom are reading and writing skills. Unfortunately, there are still many students (non-native speakers) in early semester who do not have good writing achievement yet (Hennebry, 2012:210). In the other side, multiple intelligence plays an important role in students’ learning strategy. And the part of multiple intelligence that can affects students’ writing achievement is linguistic intelligence. Linguistics itself has a large scope. In this study, the researcher makes a boundary and focuses on linguistics parts that include morphology and semantics. The purpose of this research is finding out the correlation between students’ linguistic intelligence and their writing achievement on the 3rd semester at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in academic year 2021/2022. This research uses a quantitative research approach with correlational research design. There are 60 students taken as sample in this research who are determined by using non-randomize sampling technique especially purposive sampling technique. The instruments used are linguistic intelligence test and writing test. The collected data are analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient of SPSS 22.0 program. The result of data analysis shows that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It is because the significance value is 0.000. It is lower than α (0.05). In the other side, the correlation coefficient value is 0.921 which is in the high correlation level at interval 0.80 – 1.00. The value (0.921) also shows that the direction of the correlation is positive. In the conclusion, it can be stated that there is a positive correlation between students’ linguistic intelligence and their writing achievement on the 3rd semester at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung in academic year 2021/2022.
