Keywords : Characterization, Moral Values, Moana Movie In a pandemic era, everyone is required to stay at home, so many people spend their free time watched movies. Movies are educational media that can be watched by the public. In education, movie has several advantages. Students can get education from the movies they watch. There are so many types of movies that have been released, but not all movies circulating among the public can be used as learning media. Moana movie is a movie that had educative and inspirational story so that it can be used as a media of learning because this movie had a unique main character and many moral values that we can learn. The researcher raised the research entitle "Characterization Of Moana As The Main Character In Moana Movie" to add learning resources about characteristics and moral values. The researcher focused on characterization of Moana and moral values in Moana Movie. The purpose of this study is to showed an alternative for teaching materials, such as characterization materials and moral values, in the context of teaching English. The research problem in this study are: 1) How is Moana's characterization described in Moana movie?. 2) What are the moral value found in Moana movie?. This study aims to 1) To know how Moana’s characterization described in Moana movie, 2) To find out what are the moral value in in Moana movie. The researcher used a library research design and descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher used content analysis to analyzed this research. The data sources in this study are Moana movie and transcripts from the film Moana. The data in this study are dialogue that show the characterization of Moana and moral values in Moana Movie. The result of this study contained eight characteristics of Moana and six moral values. The characteristic of Moana that found are: optimistic, open-minded, supportive, stubborn, brave, curious, independent and responsive. The moral values that found are : Honesty, Bravery, Loyalty, Respect, Love, Kindness and Friendliness.
