Vocabulary is one of the language components that has important role in increasing four skills in English: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Having insufficient mastery in vocabulary causes difficulties for students to communicate their ideas both orally and in written forms. Moreover, the students also have problems in understanding the written and spoken ideas in terms of reading and listening. Because of the importance of vocabulary, it requires teaching and learning process with a suitable media that invites students’ participation. Memrise Aplication is a media-based IT offers relax and pleasant atmosphere that can support students learning. The study was done to verify whether or not the use of Memrise Application was effective to improve students’ vocabulary mastery. The formulation of the research problem was “Is there any significant difference mean score in vocabulary of the students’ taught by using Memrise Application on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of the Third Grade at MAN 1 Pasuruan? Research method: 1) the research design of this study was Pre- Experimental with quantitative approach, 2) the population of this study was third grade students of MAN 1 Pasuruan, 3) the samples were XII-MIA 5 class consisted of 32 students 4) the research instrument was test, 5) the data analysis was using Paired T-test. The finding showed that Memrise Application was effective to improve vocabulary mastery of the students in experiment group. The effectiveness of the Memrise Application can be shown in the following descriptions: 1) the mean score of experimental group in pre-test was 48.44, and after being taught using Memrise Application the mean score of post- test was 82.03. The difference gained of the mean score was 33.59. From the difference the gained mean score between pre-test and post-test of the one group, it revealed that the experimental group got better improvement of the mean score. 2) the result of computing the mean score of post-test of the one group using paired sample t-test at significance level of 0.05 showed that the significance values (sig-2 tailed) was 0.00 smaller than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). The result indicated that there was significant different mean score in vocabulary of the experimental group taught using Memrise Application. Consequently, Null hypothesis saying that there is significant difference mean score in vocabulary of the students taught by using Memrise Application at the third grade of MAN 1 Pasuruan was accepted and Alternative hypothesis saying that there is no significant difference mean score in vocabulary of the students taught by using Memrise Application at the third grade of MAN 1 Pasuruan was rejected. Thus, ONLINE from GAMES of Memrise Application was effective media to improve students’ vocabulary.
