Abstract
As the most basic skill of English, speaking plays an important role in the language learning process. Recently, as technology development has become a new way of speaking practice, teachers can use social media and many other educational options. The purpose of this study was to examine the speaking abilities of male students and female students. In particular, the purpose of this study is to determine if there is a difference in pronunciation skills between male and female in MT Aswaja Tunggangri and to clarify the difference. This study is presented with a quantitative approach and comparative method to identify the pronunciation abilities of male and female students. Researchers have taken several steps to collect the data. These are observations and verbal records of tests and interviews. Next, we analyzed the data based on pronunciation. The subjects of this study were 7th grades A and B of MTs Aswaja Tunggangri Tulungagung, and a total of 22 students in grades A and B, 11 males and 10 females. And this research still has its limits. It would be very interesting if the next researcher could prove that it could be inversely correlated by analyzing it using other methods or by looking at the results of this study from a different angle and examining it more closely.
