Key words: Vocabulary mastery, LINE Webtoon. English is an international language while in Indonesia as a foreign language. In English it is very important to master the vocabulary before moving to grammar. because we certainly have difficulty if we do not master the vocabulary to use English. On the other hand, how to conduct a proper material emphasized to vacabulary mastery to the students in south suburban area of Blitar. It such a big issue to overcome to improve students’ vocabulary mastery by a good strategy, as used of LINE Webtoon. Learning is an important component in education. When students start learning, they go through several phases. By doing the learning they will reach the aims. Suppose the students will be able to do what they get to the life. Vocabulary mastery is one of crucial part in supporting learning English. The students can communicate and receive the meaning by knowing vocabularies. However, in learning process there is a problem related to the vocabulary mastery especially in Indonesia which use English as secondary or third language in daily communication. In gaining students motivation and their mastery of vocabulary it need a kind of media which is able to apply in teaching and learning English. Learning process needs media as the complement of learning strategy. Many kinds of media supposed can support the process of students absorption. LINE Webtoon Application is one of online medias to enhance students to be more active in English class. This is an online media or application that can make students interest for practicing vocabulary skill with pictures combination web and cartoon or comic. This research use quantitative approach by conducting experimental design. The Population in this research is all students at eight grade of Islamic Junior High School Ash-Shufi, 60 students consist of two classes namely experimented class and control class. The samples are 34 students. 17 students are Control Group, the rest are Experimental Group. In conducting this research, the procedure of data analysis would be collected from result pre-test, treatment and post-test result. After collecting the data, the researcher did some steps in analyzing the data. The statistical computations on the pre -test scores of the experimental and controlled group using SPSS 25 for windows showed that it was found that test count (3.390) and t-table (3.065). Moreover, the result on Pair 1, Sig.(2-tailed) 0.000 < 0,05 it can be inferred that there is significance different in mean students result of vocabulary mastery taught by using LINE Webtoon in Recount Text material and those taught by using a conventional method. It means that H0 is rejected, while H1 is accepted that there is significant influence of using LINE Webtoon on students’ vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of using LINE Webtoon on students’ vocabulary mastery. Then, it also found that was significant effect of LINE Webtoon strategy in increasing students vocabulary mastery. It can be seen at the highest score of experimental class achievement than the control class, which were not using the YouTube Videos strategy. The result of the study showed that LINE Webtoon learning strategy is more effective improving students’ vocabulary mastery than using conventional strategies.
