Keywords: Pragmatic, Expressive Speech Acts, Flipped Movie A communication is achieved when the speaker delivers the purpose of the conversation to the listener and the listener understands the point of the conversation. Pragmatics is the study of how language is used to communicate. Speech act is a subfield of pragmatics that studies the meaning of utterances in conversation. This study aims to analyze the types and uses of expressive speech acts in the Flipped movie. The researcher formulated the problems in this research: (1) What are the expressive acts used by Juli and Bryce as the main characters in the Flipped movie? (2) What are the perlocutions of the expressive acts performed by the main character's utterances in the Flipped movie? The purposes in this research were: (1) To find out the types of expressive acts used by the main characters in the Flipped movie. (2) To find out the perlocutionary acts of the expressive acts performed by the main character's utterances in the Flipped movie. The research design in this study is qualitative approach. The researcher chose the content analysis form since the aim is to describe the phenomenon that occurs in the Flipped movie. The data source of this study was the script dialogue Flipped movie. Totally there are 48 utterances from the beginning until the end of the movie that containing expressive speech act, with 7 kinds of expression based on Searle theory. The most expressive act that used in this movie is expression of wishing with the frequency 14 times appear. Then, there are 35 utterances from the beginning until the end of the movie that containing perlocutionary act, with 12 kinds of expression based on Austin theory. The most perlocutionary act that performed in this movie is cause expression with the frequency 16 times appear.
