Keyword: Reading, U-Dictionary Application, Reading Achievement Reading is one of the best keys that a person has. In an era that is increasingly sophisticated and online, dictionaries come with a face that is not boring. Dictionaries are now available on the internet/web, which are considered more practical. The score for the dictionary group is generally higher than the non-dictionary group. The purpose of this study was to observe significant differences in the development of students' reading achievement between students who were taught English using the U-Dictionary application and students who were taught using conventional methods. The research design of this research is quantitative. The subjects of this study were 9th grade students of MTS Sunan Kalijogo Kediri with a total sample of 76 students. Data collection techniques used test instruments which were analyzed using the SPSS program. Based on the average results of the two groups, the experimental group got a higher average score than the control class. In addition, there was a significant difference in the post-test scores between the experimental and control groups. Meanwhile, the average post-test score in the experimental group was 81.7368, while the average post-test score in the control group was 74.8421. That is, in the post-test session, the experimental class scored higher than the post-test, and also higher than the control group. It can be concluded that the reading achievement of the experimental class students who were treated using the U-Dictionary application increased more effectively compared to the control group which used the conventional method (manual dictionary).
