English Education Department. Fauclty of Education and Teacher Training. State Islamic University Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. H. Muh. Basuni., M.Pd. Keywords: Quizizz, Formative Assessment, Language Learning Assessment has an important impact and plays an important role in the educational process that aims to inform and promote continuous learning. Therefore, the assessment is expected to help students and teachers in evaluating learning activities. In this study, researcher used the quizizz application to find out how the learning assessment process used the tool. The formulation of the problem in this study is: How does the teacher use the Quizizz application as a medium in English language learning and as a formative assessment, and how are students' perceptions of using Quizizz application in English language learning. The purpose of this study was to find out the teacher’s way to use the Quizizz application as a medium in English language learning and as a formative assessment and how students the student’s perceptions of using Quizizz application in English language learning. The researcher uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative description research model. The informants in this study were five students of class IX-E students of MTsN 8 Tulungagung and a English teacher at MTsN 8 Tulungagung. The instrument used is an interview. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the quizizz application is considered positive and able to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning. The researcher found that the way the teacher did the assessment tool using quizizz was by providing a comfortable and fun atmosphere and learning. This affects the assessment. In addition, students view positively the use of this quizizz application in the learning process so that the assessment process, which is used for evaluation materials in subsequent learning will run well.
