Advisor: Dr. Erna Iftanti, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Effectiveness, Cubing Strategy, VAK System, Vocabulary Mastery The learning system at the junior high school level, which is the first mainstay of delivering English lessons for students, has been impacted by the elimination of English subjects at the elementary school level, so English is a new lesson for the students, and their vocabulary mastery is lacking. In its implementation in the classroom English courses, there are only three hours of meeting in one week, which cannot give optimum learning for students in the near future. Specifically, vocabulary mastery plays a vital part in acquiring the four language competencies of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. It might give kids the confidence to learn English if they are encouraged to do so. The formulation of the problem in this study is: Is there any significant different score of students' vocabulary mastery before and after being taught by using cubing strategy with VAK system at SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang? Based on the formulation of research question above, this study research objective was: To find out the significant difference score on the students' vocabulary mastery taught by using cubing strategy with VAK system effective or not to teach vocabulary at SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang. This research design is pre-experimental research with one group given a pre-test - post-test. The research population was the seventh-grade students at SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang in the academic year 2022/2023. The research sample was class VII-C which consisted of 32 students selected by purposive sampling. In addition, the research instrument was tested while the data analysis used t-test. The findings of this study revealed a substantial variation in scores between the pre-test and post-test outcomes. This is demonstrated by the fact that the mean of the pre-test is 70.38, while the mean of the post-test is 80.38, or simply put, the mean of the post-test is greater than the mean of the pre-test with a learning completion criteria of 72, with a difference in the mean of the two tests of 10.00. Furthermore, statistical calculations utilizing the paired sample t-test with SPSS revealed that the magnitude of significance was less than the significance threshold (0.000<0.05). In other words, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, indicating that there is a substantial change in students' vocabulary knowledge following the deployment of the Cubing Strategy with the VAK System. As a result, it is possible to infer that the adoption of the cubing technique in conjunction with the VAK system in teaching students' vocabulary mastery for junior high school, particularly at SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang, in the 2022/2023 academic year is effective.
